After a long period of development, testing and rebuilding several parts of the application, the new Footy Analyzer release is finally ready. This version is much more than a simple database viewer. Footy Analyzer now follows your save over time and builds its own history using snapshots. This means you can look back at player development, club progress, season performance and much more, even when the live game data has already changed.
The Analyzer has received a lot of work. Club history, player development, season statistics, squad performance, world data and historical player profiles are now connected to the snapshot system. Player history remains available across seasons and transfers, so you can actually follow how a player develops throughout your career.
The Players section now gives you more than basic player information. Season statistics such as Played, Goals, Assists and Average Rating are available alongside the normal player information. Historical data is also used throughout the Analyzer where available.
Footy Assistant has also grown into a much larger part of the application. It can analyse your squad, help with tactics and provide reports based on the players available to you. The tactic editor allows you to build and save formations while keeping an overview of player suitability and squad options.
Compare Center lets you follow multiple players at the same time and compare their development using historical snapshots. This makes it much easier to see who is actually improving instead of only comparing their current attributes.
Recruitment, Youth Radar, player tracking, squad form, world information, competitions, clubs, staff and many other areas have also received improvements.
A lot of work in this release has happened behind the scenes. Snapshot saving has been made safer, historical data is separated from live FM26 data, corrupt snapshots are protected against accidental overwriting and the application performs additional checks before storing history.
The permission system has also been tightened. Free and guest accounts can no longer briefly access protected functions while account permissions are still loading.
Current Ability and Potential Ability are no longer shown as obvious raw values throughout the main interface. Footy Analyzer uses its own Ability presentation instead, keeping scouting and player discovery more interesting.
This is still marked as Beta because Footy Analyzer reads a huge amount of information directly from FM26 and every long term save can behave slightly differently. If you notice something that does not look correct, please report it with as much information as possible.
Before updating, I recommend keeping a backup of your existing Footy Analyzer data folder if you have an important long term career.
Thank you to everyone who has tested Footy Analyzer, reported problems and helped improve it. The project has grown far beyond what I originally planned and there is still plenty more I want to build.
